“You’re the parentheses expert, right?”
“Yep!” I said without a moment of hesitation.
He laughed.
“I’m serious!” I insisted. “I’ve been doing some serious parenthesis work yesterday and today with some reports I’ve been creating.”
My boss laid a document on my desk that included references to various categories and asked whether I thought he should leave the parentheses in or take them out.
“Well, first of all, those are quotation marks.”
(oh) (my) (goodness)

That’s a good one for Reader’s Digest!

Where were you two weeks ago when I was trying to spell the word for those round bracket thingys. Spell check gave me no suggestions, and when I tried to search the dictionary, I couldn’t find it. It only gave me suggestions like “parentese,” which apparently is a word for a parent’s language to their baby. (I thought that was baby talk)
Anyway…who put that H in the word??? That’s what I was missing!!! But come on! I was close! Why couldn’t even the dictionary help me? UGH!
Next time I will just ask you for a spelling.
Haha! My avatar matches your theme colors…almost.
Haha…that is a funny story. I could just picture both of you during the exchange and it made me laugh.
