Beyond Board Books: a summer reading program for moms

Don’t let your kids have all the fun this summer! Beyond Board Books is a summer reading program just for moms! If you enjoy reading, and if you’re the mother of at least one child of any age, this reading program is for you. Participating in Beyond Board Books is easy. All you have to do is read books and tell me what you read.

For every non-children’s book you read between June 15-August 31, 2014, leave a comment on our reading log. Your comment must include the title, author, and something about the book. You can write anything you want about the book — it doesn’t need to be a full review! Please leave a separate comment for each book.

Are there prizes? Of course! Each week, I will randomly draw a name from ALL entries on our reading log so far, and the winner will get to choose a prize from the prize box. The “prize box” is a list of giveaway items being offered by moms who run an online shop or blog. The first weekly drawing will be on Monday, June 23. All weekly winners will be contacted by email. If you want to offer an item for the prize box, please email me at the link provided near the top of the sidebar.

Help spread the word! During the month of June, everyone who shares about Beyond Board Books on social media will have a chance to win a $25 gift card to Barnes & Noble to kick off your summer reading. Whether you use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, your blog, or all of the above, every time you tell your friends about Beyond Board Books, leave a comment on the “spread the word” page to enter the kickoff giveaway.

Beyond Board Books: print your reading log

Just for fun, you can print your own Beyond Board Books reading log to hang on your refrigerator or bulletin board. If your kids are participating in a summer reading program, why not hang it next to their reading logs to show them that Mom loves to read too!

Happy reading!
